Twelve pairs entered the Plymouth Badminton Handicapped Christmas Tournament held at Devonshire High School for Boys.
These entries played in a Round Robin in three groups of four giving each pair value for money.
Group Winners and Runners Up went through to the Main Event knock-out whilst the remainder entered the Plate Event knock-out. Group winners were Julian and Heather Cooper from Group A, playing off ‘–6’, Martin Potter and Melanie Francis from Group B playing off ‘–4’ and Dave Bartholomew and Rachael Williams from Group C playing off "scratch".
In the Main event, Julian and Heather from Callington and B.A.T.S. overcame Y.M.C.A.’s Martin and Melanie 15-10 15-0 to take the top prize.
In the Plate Event, we saw an excellent final between Mayflower Wednesday’s Nick Rees and Jane Bryan playing off ‘+2’ against Callington’s Shane Maton and Lorna Garbett playing off ‘–2’ which saw Shane and Lorna take the honours 15-8 15-14.
