Representatives of fourteen badminton clubs belonging to the Plymouth and District Badminton League attended their Fixtures Meeting tonight to set the dates for competitive matches between thirty-nine different teams over the next 6 months.
Despite a smaller number of Medley teams entering the League this year, interest is still growing in within the League and there has been an increase in the numbers of Ladies and Men’s teams entering the League. This year, the League will operate a Medley League split over three Divisions with two of these Divisions larger than last year. The Men’s League will again operate over three Divisions but this time the number of teams in each will be five. The Ladies League has doubled in size this year with six teams entered into a single Division.
Matches are expected to get underway within the next two weeks and Club Secretaries will get together for a progress meeting on Tuesday 21st November.
The first Tournament of the season is the Christmas Handicapped Tournament which will take place on Sunday December 17th. Application forms and further details will be available from Club secretaries in November or from the League website within the next week.
