Just 5 aces separated the teams with Torpoint gaining a narrow 5-4 victory at DHSB. With the match standing at 3-3 after the level doubles it was all decided in the mixed.
Torpoint closed out the match in the first two mixed events. Gary Wood and Audrey Still beat Marcus Dover and Lesley Northcote 15-6 15-12, while Joe Trethewy and Julie Weeks overcame Nick Rees and Karen Searl 15-10 17-16.
Wednesday's Phil Lyndon and Julia Leaves shared 37 aces each with Rod Olney and Joan Fellowes in the final mixed. They edged out their Torpoint opponents 15-11 7-15 15-11 to give the final score an air of respectability.
