The Plymouth Badminton League held their Christmas Tournament at Devonport High School for Boys. Eighteen mixed pairs entered this handicapped event, the best entry for years.
Three groups of six played an American Round Robin before entering a knockout event. David Harrington and Tamsin Woodroffe from B.A.T.S. powered their way through their group without dropping a set and then went on to win the Tournament beating the holders, James Hurrell and Jo Turns in the semi-final 15-14 and Callington’s Julian Cooper and Heather Cooper 15-7 in the final.

In the plate final Mayflower Wednesday’s Andy Crocker and Karen Searl took full advantage of their home court to beat Callington’s Brian Gilbert and Fiona Casey 15-12.
